Get involved
We hope you have caught something of the CU’s vision and are now wondering how you can become part of the mission team on campus. Below we’ve listed 12 different ways you can contribute to making Jesus known on campus. Please don’t let perceived or actual lack of skills or knowledge put you off – we are much more concerned about character than about gifting. Try something new or find out more by getting in touch with the people listed in the boxes.

| Make friends with international students and help them with their English. We play games, practice pronunciation, and read and discuss the Bible. Tea and cakes every week! Thursday 4.30-7.00pm. |
Help out at one of two Globe Cafés run each week for international students. There is a different programme each week (e.g. culture, music, food, game) and an opportunity to go for a Bible reading and discussion. Monday 8.00-10.00pm. |
Perhaps you love internationals outreach but helping out weekly isn’t possible for you. Why not sign up to help with the termly socials we organize? Past socials include The Meaning of the Season (Christmas), Easter Party and a trip to the Lickey Hills. |

| The tech team are often the unsung heroes of Central meetings. They are usually the first to arrive and the last to leave, and they work hard to make our meetings possible. Thursday evening before and after Central. |
Do you have a heart for helping students understand more of what the Bible teaches about being a follower of Jesus? You could help in the running of our weekly Alpha course. Monday 5.30-7.00pm. |
Action Groups give students on campus the opportunity to discuss spiritual things and find out about Jesus. This is often done through the use of questionnaires. You won’t be sent out on your own and you spend the first few watching and learning. Tuesday 12.00-2.00pm. |

| Being able to come to God in prayer is a great privilege and something the Bible teaches is essential in mission. Why not make it a priority to pray with other Christians for the work of the CU on campus? Prayer & Praise is on Wednesday 5.00-6.00pm at the Chaplaincy. Also keep an ear out for Prayer Breakfasts and Late Night Prayer events. | Do you play an instrument or sing? If so you could join a band to play at Central (Thu) or lead songs at Prayer & Praise (Wed). | The guys and girls on the refreshments team serve the CU by serving tea, coffee, squash and biscuits after Central on Thursday evening. Degree in culinary arts not required! |

| Are you in your 2nd or 3rd year at uni? If so you could be partnered with one of this year’s Freshers to help them in their transition into uni life by being their CU Mum or Dad. | Friday Football is a great opportunity to make new friends and be a witness for Christ while playing some non-competitive football. Both guys and girls are welcome. Friday 8.00-9.00pm. |
The CU website is a valuable communication tool and is often a first point of contact for people interested in the CU. If you know anything about web design or are willing to learn you can help in keeping it up-to-date and relevant. |
