Small groups

Small groups are primarily designed for those going into their second or third year but are open to first years if hall groups aren’t for you! These groups are much more laid back and each member of the small group is encouraged to take part within a part of the group. For example one person may lead worship one week, another week that person may lead the Bible study or bring the snacks or organise a social event. If however you don’t want to get involved in the organisation of the weekly meeting, small groups also provide a space for people just to come along, grow in relationship with others within the group and with God.

We realise that university is a really tough place for a Christian no matter how long you have been one and so small groups provide a really safe place to share struggles and receive prayer and support through both hard and good times!

To link up with a small group or find out more about one, please contact Matt Williams.

Christians in Sport

Christians in SportThe aim of CIS university groups is to reach university sportspeople with the gospel of Jesus Christ. Weekly meetings are focused around prayer and evangelism, to help students pray for their team mates, play in a way that honours God, both on and off the pitch, and say something of the great news of Jesus Christ. Find out more about CIS national on their website or contact them at .

Christian Medical Fellowship

Christian Medical Fellowship CMF is a fellowship of Christian doctors and medical students throughout the UK and Ireland. CMF has its own medical students division tailored to the needs of students across the country and internationally. The local fellowship for students can be contacted through the CMF website.

The Theology Network Group

The Theology Network Group exists for students who are studying Theology and Religious Studies. It is a movement committed to an evangelical doctrinal basis that seeks to support, encourage and equip students in the challenges faced whilst engaged in theological study. For more information on the Theology Network Group at the University of Birmingham, please contact James Pickin.

The Lawyers’ Christian Fellowship

Christian Medical FellowshipThe gospel has profound implications for the legal world. God has exalted Jesus and given him all authority in heaven and on earth. He has inherited the rule of God‘s kingdom by which all of creation will be brought back under God’s rule. Every area of the universe and sphere of human society belongs to our great Saviour, and as He is Creator, it all derives from him. This includes the nations and their laws, lawyers and their lives, justice and business! The LCF exists to bear witness to this truth. Check out the LCF Website or contact Emma West to get involved. They also have a Facebook Group
